Everyone, of any faith or none, is very welcome to join us in Meeting. You may come just once, occasionally or regularly. Some of us also go to another Church.
When you arrive at the Meeting House you will be welcomed and shown where the Meeting room is. Please feel free to sit anywhere you feel comfortable.
We have no liturgy or set prayers and there is no minister or priest. We sit in silence, seeking together a direct relationship with God or with the power of Goodness that is within us all and may be shared by us all. Do not worry about the words we use or you use to describe this: it is not of concern to us.
Sometimes someone may feel compelled to speak - to ‘minister’. We try to listen with an open spirit and reach for the intention behind the words. What is said may move you deeply or it may not be meaningful for you at that time. We receive ministry in silence and without debate, although sometimes after a period of reflection it may lead to further ministry. If you feel called to speak please do not hesitate to do so.
The Meeting ends when two Friends present shake hands.
Afterwards most of us gather downstairs for refreshments and social time. We hope you will join us. If you have any questions you would like to ask then we will do our very best to answer.
